Indian History

Indian history is a vast subject covering several millennia, if you accept that the Vedic times indeed belong to documented history.  The arrival of the Aryans in to the fertile land of the Indus and the Ganges, was a magical moment when the nomadic cattle herding Aryans decided to settle down, put down their familial roots and invoke the Upanishads.  One book that conveys this magic is unexpectedly The Discovery of India by Indias first post independence Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.  History is no longer taught or understood with the same fervour as it was a hundred years ago, when historians, Indian or European were actual contributors to the cultural debate of a country.   Here are some information on this vast subject and some online information links:
